We’re often asked to recommend books about living with allergies. Here are some suggestions to support children with allergies and to help their friends understand their condition. Some of these books are The Allergy Team favourites and others have been recommended by other families.

Annie's Allergies

Written and illustrated by Amy Krieger   

A rhyming picture book about the changes Annie’s family must make to keep her safe and thriving with her allergies to nuts, dairy and egg.

Freddy the Mouse series

Written and illustrated by Josie Warburton

In each book in the series, Freddy meets a character with a different allergy. Aimed at 3-6 year olds, they cover allergy and anaphylaxis.

I can't have that, I have allergies

The story has a really good message and allows you to lie back, relax and feel less stressed about your allergy. It helps you learn what to do if someone has a nut allergy and can help you understand how they feel.
