Dr Neeta Patel
Consultant General Paediatrician and Allergy Lead
Dr Neeta Patel is a Consultant General Paediatrician and Allergy Lead at the Whittington Hospital in London, where she has also held the post of Clinical Director for Children’s Services.
Neeta set up the paediatric allergy service at the Whittington Hospital 15 years ago. She developed the first primary care multi-disciplinary allergy service in the country. The Whittington allergy service now runs 6 one-stop clinics in the hospital and community, seeing over 1,200 children with allergies every year.
Neeta graduated from Manchester University and completed her paediatric training in Manchester, London (including at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital) and Melbourne.
Professor of Paediatric Allergy
Adam Fox is Professor of Paediatric Allergy at King’s College London. He is President of the British Society of Allergy & Clinical Immunology (BASCI) and a Consultant Paediatric Allergist at Evelina London Children’s Hospital (Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust), the UK’s largest specialist children’s allergy centre.
Included in The Times ‘Britain’s 100 Best Children’s Doctor’s (2012), Professor Fox also sees patients at his private practice, Allergy London.
Adam completed his clinical training at University College, London after reading Medicine and Neuroscience at Cambridge University.

Clinical Nurse Specialist
Deirdre Brown is a Children’s Advanced Nurse Practitioner in the Children’s Allergy Service at the Whittington Hospital. She was employed as the first specialist nurse in the service in 2009 and has been instrumental in developing all aspects of the nurse-led and multidisciplinary service.
She has 30 years of nursing experience, 28 of which are in paediatrics, following qualification at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital. In 2020 Dee completed her MSc in Children’s Advanced Nursing Practice and is an active member of the BSACI nurses’ group.
She is passionate about supporting children and their carers to manage their allergies in the context of their everyday life having had a child with delayed cow’s milk allergy and eczema. Dee has a particular interest in anaphylaxis management in schools.
Dr Karen Murphy
Dr Karen Murphy is a Chartered Psychologist accredited by the British Psychological Society and a registered Clinical Psychologist.
She works within a children’s allergy service at a leading London hospital where she provides psychological support to children and young people with allergies. Karen also has a private practice and has a special interest in supporting families living with allergies drkarenmurphy.co.uk.
Karen completed her Masters in Mental Health Studies at King’s College London before completing her Clinical Psychology Doctorate at the University of Surrey.

Dr David Mass
Dr David Mass is a General Practitioner with a specialist interest in allergy working in Palmers Green in North London.
He has worked in the field of allergy with Professor Adam Fox for over a decade and has a particular interest in the diagnosis and management of allergic disease – including Eczema, Food Allergy, Rhinitis and Asthma. David performs supervised feeds, food challenges and desensitisation to allergens.
The eldest of his three sons has a milk allergy so David has first-hand experience of being an allergy parent.
