BBC Breakfast studio and guests<br />

It was a privilege to sit on the BBC Breakfast sofa to talk about The Allergy Team’s work with schools and the launch of the Schools Allergy Code to help keep pupils with allergies safer.

Thanks to Garret Fay, CEO of Insignis Academy Trust, for sitting alongside me on the famous red sofa to contribute his perspective as an educator.

Media coverage of the Schools Allergy Code, Schools Allergy Register and our parent survey about allergy management in schools, included radio interviews with BBC Radio 5 Live Breakfast, Times Radio, BBC Radio Berkshire, Nicky Campbell’s phone-in on Radio 5 Live, a Sky News interview with one of the families we support and over 250 separate pieces of print coverage from The Times and the i paper to The Sun and MailOnline.

This was followed up with a great segment on BBC Morning Live and praise for the Schools Allergy Code on ITV’s Good Morning Britain.

The link to the code was also sent to all schools via the Department for Education’s Sector Email, along with a reminder of schools’ legal obligation to protect pupils with allergies.

This matters because spreading the word about the Code and encouraging schools to download it, adopt it and to sign up to the Register is so important.
